Yang is a first year PhD candidate studying at Moray House School of Education, the University of Edinburgh. Her research topic is related to Scottish Country Dance and Shandong Yangge. While completing a BA in Dance at Beijing Normal University, she authorised “British Dance Science Education System and Inspirations,” Minzu University of China Press (2015). While enrolled in an MSc in Dance Science and Education at the University of Edinburgh (2015-2016) and Choreomundus – International Master in Dance Knowledge, Practice, and Heritage at four universities in Europe (2016-2018), she taught dance pieces and performed with young people and university students from different cultural backgrounds and different majors and was actively engaged in learning Scottish dancing. Her passions include dance education, as well as cultural and anthropological theories related to movement.
