János is currently involved in a project that aims to collect traditional dance material in Ethiopia and also digitisation and make public the past collections of dance and music. He is of Hungarian-Romanian descent, with research interests based in dance as part of cultural heritage and issues of representation and performance. For the last 13 years he has been a choreographer and dance instructor at the Bíborka Ensemble. In 2017 he founded the Bíbor Chamber Dance Ensemble, with the purpose of experimenting how traditional dance can be performed within the contemporary context of theater. His educational background includes choreography and the Choreomundus Master programme.
