Born in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Diana Takutdinova has devoted her life to arts since the age of four. She is of Tatar descent and is skilled in the dances of Central Asia, in particular Kazakh, Uighur, Kyrgyz, Uzbek and Tajik dance. Being a dancer in a well established Bishkek ensemble, Diana is also skilled in traditional staged dances of the Post-Soviet Republics and ballet technique. Diana’s keen interest in learning cultures and dance motivated her towards a Bachelors degree in Anthropology and Choreography respectively from two institutions, American University of Central Asia and University of Culture and Art.
Diana has a Masters degree in Peace and Conflict Transformation from University of Tromso, Norway and she successfully completed Choreomundus International Master program in Dance Knowledge, Practice and Heritage.
Diana hopes that her experience around the world and studies will enable her to contribute in new ways towards preserving and shaping the culture and arts of her people in Kyrgyzstan as well as transferring this knowledge to the next generation of artists.
