Signa is a young woman, who happens to be born in Italy from a Sicilian and a Croatian family branches. Along her path she came across philosophy and fell in love, so she got a BA in Philosophy (Università degli Studi, Milano). She also came across dance and fell in love, thus she have been studying Contemporary Dance for many years. Wishing to combine these two streams and enrolled in the International Master Choreomundus/Erasmus Mundus in Dance Knowledge, Practice and Heritage.
To her Dance is presence, awareness, being together: with others, with herself. Bridge and connection. Finding a dynamic of balance, breaking it till the limit, till joy springs and pain emerges. Pain because of the presence of a limit, but through acknowledging and accepting this presence wounds can heal, limits can release, freedom can be found. She is interested in what dance and movement do to people, as sources of transformations. My MA dissertation deals with Expression Primitive, a movement practice acknowledged in the dance therapy field, under the perspective of ‘experiences of transformation’.
She is currently exploring the relationships among movement systems and healing practices.
