Diana is a Colombian anthropologist, dancer, mother and a dreamer that works hard to balance her interests in life. Currently she enjoys learning and dancing very different types of dances such as Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Afro-Latin rhythms and Colombian and international folk dances in general. This new knowledge has given her further skills to be a more creative dancer. It has also given her a range of tools that she drew from when she worked as a school dance teacher and choreographer with children of very different ages. Teaching has been a very important part of her life as a dancer, since she is constantly acquiring new knowledge and observing the children’s expressions and creativity, which continuously challenges her not only as a dancer but also as a human being.
She is interested in the potential of Intangible Cultural Heritage, specially dance, as both means and goal unto itself for the (re)understanding, encounter and respect of oneself and of the other. Her aim is to support processes of collective and personal reparation through collaboration between different groups that work with Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in Colombia. Using local workshops, intercultural encounters, and a National Festival, she aims to make visible, exchange and promote the practices and knowledge of the participants, giving a prominent role to the children.
